Beacon of Hope is pretty useful too, but expensive. I usually go with regenerative carapace for biological/cyborg units, or self-repair systems for mechanical units. Then, if I'm using a race/ST that doesn't have early healing, I'll get a healing operation like the Dvar one (can't remember name). Free research, which is awesome in Empire mode. This allows me some huge wiggle room in tactical combat.īattle autopsies. Gives each unit precognition, which negates their first hit in battle. Turn them on auto then forget they exist. Like you mentioned, camo scouts are always fun. Decent all around damagers with entropy channel, and that reset skill is immensely useful. Cheap, long range stunners helps with any type of army makeup. Oherwise weapon mods for ST units if the race I'm playing doesn't use that weapon tech. Fireburst would be better but it removes their ability to stun. Rail Acceletators + Shockwave Infusers if I take paragon elites. Phoenix Bomb Launchers - That mod is just OP, expensive at 400 resources but once unlocked, makes most fights trivial. Mountain Breaker - removing hills and mounts from the center of my empire makes it easier to navigate and helps with city planning a lot.īattlefield Autopsies - Solid research boost(I sometimes take Disinformation Campaign here instead if I want to avoid wars with AI) I usually have to max them out anyway if I don't want to constantly lose sectors to marauders. Rest really depends on the race I'm playing as and ST.įortification Efforts - free, stronger garrison are always nice on high intensity. Paragon Elite(as vanguard mostly but it's also ok as Amazon since they lack good overwatch units) Setting them loose on auto-explore saves time and is usually more efficient. Syndicate Runner - best scout as it has camo and won't get attacked. I was just wondering what others like to bring, mainly for inspiration and variety.
